American Honey | Austin Photographer

By a strange turn of events and meeting the right people at the right time, I was hired last week to photograph guests at a very upscale party in Steiner Ranch.  The party was officially hosted by our local paper and a magazine affiliated with it, and the guests included the Austin area A-list and many of the wealthier set in town.  It was such a thrill to be there and mix and mingle with such influential people.

I was a bit nervous going out there.  I have been trying, in the past few years, to overcome a huge problem I have with social anxiety.  I wasn’t worried about the photography part so much; it was more about the logistics of just getting there – driving out, finding the house, getting through the gate, finding parking and walking in without tripping and making a fool out of myself – yes, those are the things that make my heart race and my hair turn gray.  Thankfully, I managed to get where I needed to go with no mishaps.

I must say I was blown away when I pulled up to this.

The house is over 12 thousand square feet, and sold for 7.8 million.  My whole house could have fit in the master bathroom! The master closet was about the size of my living and dining room area combined!Austin Events, Dawn Fry Photo

The absolutely STUNNING cars out front were provided by the Roger Beasley Automotive Group.  They were spectacular!

The Audi was definitely a hit – I saw more people drooling over that car than the others.  However, the 4 door Porsche was also a conversation piece.  It certainly looked…unusual. 😉Steiner Ranch Photographer, Dawn Fry

The food for the party was provided by Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar.  It was spectacular!! Everything Fleming’s did, from the food to the servers, reminded me of the restaurant I used to work at in Scottsdale, AZ.  I enjoyed watching them work.  For a split second, I longed for my days as an event planner and catering sales manager. But it was only for a moment! 😉  Besides, if I was still doing catering sales, I wouldn’t have the opportunity to create images like the ones I am sharing today!Dawn Fry Photo, Steiner Ranch Photographer

Mmmmm, Maserati!!! 😀

Thanks for looking!
