Last Saturday was my official bluebonnet mini session day and as you all know it was not the best day weather wise. Some of my sessions happened and some didn’t due to the rain, so I had to reschedule a couple.
I was a bit nervous about pushing the last one back a whole week, but it was the only day that worked into both our schedules so yesterday morning was the date set. I trekked out to my original “special bluebonnet spot” to find that, though the flowers were still there, the week’s rains had made the grass grow up about 6 inches over them! Not only that, but they had begun to go to seed last week, so many of them were dropping their colorful blossoms. Oh no!! Thankfully, I had another “super-secret-late-blooming-bluebonnet-spot” in my back pocket, so I called my client and had her follow me out to it.
Hallelujah! The bluebonnets were going strong, had no extra grasses and are not yet going to seed like the others I have seen around town. Thank goodness for my very special patch!
Here is one of my favorite images from the morning. 🙂
I had so much fun with this beauty and her two sisters! More to come!
Thanks for looking,
