Every year I try to contribute 2 or 3 photo sessions to local businesses for silent auctions. It is a great way to give back to the community that benefits both their business and mine. Plus, it introduces me to some really great families that I might not have otherwise ever had contact with. The B family met up with me on a somewhat chilly day back in November for the family photo session they won at a silent auction for a local private preschool. I am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to not only donate, but to photograph such a beautiful family who had not had professional photos taken of them in many years. The mom was particularly excited to get some photos of the baby of the family. I was excited to see how I would do with 3 very energetic, curious, exciting boys! I have 2 of my own at home, but taking on 3 was a new challenge for me. And I loved every minute of it! 🙂
Lately I have had a thing for taking pictures of kids with stuff in their hands. It seems to be a trendy thing with photographers right now, but there is something about those pudgy little fingers and how kids always want to show you the wondrous things they have discovered. On this particular family photo session from the holidays, The B family’s 3 beautiful boys spent the majority of our time together scouring the ground for magical objects.
The oldest was particularly enamored with the pecans. Our location was in a pecan orchard, so there were plenty to choose from out of those littering the ground. I think at one point he was carrying at least 10 of them! Of course, I had to take a picture. He gave me one to keep – don’t tell anyone, but it is still in my jacket pocket. Every time I stick my hands in my pocket, I am reminded of his sweet face and that adorable gesture of friendship. Thanks, Buddy. 🙂
The middle boy was super sweet too, just a little slower to warm up. He liked hanging out with his dad a lot more than having his picture taken.
My persistence paid off and I eventually got some adorable smiles.
His momma helped me out by making him laugh. They were so sweet together!
Baby brother was the hardest of the 3 to entertain. But even his serious face is seriously C.U.T.E!
Mommy to the rescue!!
B family, thank you so much for letting me photograph your beautiful family!
Thanks for looking!
