Two weeks ago I had the wonderful honor of photographing a very beautiful woman who is due with her first child next month. On that gorgeous Saturday morning, 3 of my good friends and I piled into my van and headed up to Irving, TX, just outside of Dallas, for a day of shooting in the amazing Mandalay Canal at Las Colinas. My friend Jen had her own session to shoot, and the other 2 friends helped out by assisting us. It was an amazing day filled with fun, laughter, good stories, deep conversation and awesome girlfriend time. It is a day I won’t forget.
Everything about the location was, in a word, perfect! It was beyond beautiful, the light was dreamy and it was clean and deserted except for photographers and their clients. There were so many wonderful areas to shoot – the creative possibilities were endless!
My beautiful client, Rebecca, was amazing and absolutely stunning throughout the session. I *wish* I had looked this great at 35 weeks pregnant!
If Las Colinas wasn’t 3 1/5 hours away, I would totally recommend shooting there for all my sessions. I could have shot there for days! You may recognize Rebecca from the engagement session I did for her and her husband a few years ago (please forgive the wonky formatting on that old post, some of the posts didn’t transfer from the old site very well).
This time she really wanted shots of her belly and not so much her face. I love how she and her husband are clinging to each other in this next image.
When one looks this good though, you just have to get some shots of their beautiful face. Becky, you look like a super model!
This stair case was amazing! Rebecca was a trooper and was brave enough to have her hubby lift her up to the railing for this great shot.
At the end we got to play a little with some off camera lighting and I really like how this one turned out. I haven’t done an “artsy-fartsy” shot in a while! 😉
Thanks so much for letting me photograph you guys! I am so excited and happy for you and I can’t wait to meet your new little bundle next month.
Thanks for looking! Please share this post with your friends!
Wow, these are great! I really like the first one in the hallway. Also, the mood of the black & white one where she’s on her back is awesome!
